How My Dog Let Me Know She Loved Me Before She Passed

January 21, 2014

It was a very sad day. My sixteen-year-old dog, Chelsea, was curled up in her doggie bed dying. She couldn’t even lift her head as I held her and tried to comfort her that morning. I cleaned out a sticky discharge from her eyes that was preventing her from seeing. I told her it was okay to leave her body now because she was in a lot of pain, and added that she could still remain with us afterwards. I then told her I loved her, and placed her back in her bed so that she could rest.

It was snowing hard outside, and about an hour later, my son, Tim, came home early from school. After we had lunch, he and I both went into the bedroom to see how Chelsea was doing. I started petting her, gently cupped her face with my hands, looked into her eyes, and repeated what I had told her earlier, “I love you. I love you.”

Immediately after I said that, Tim sat down on the bed. (I had a koala stuffed animal, along with some of my other things, in a box next to the bed because the guest room was being painted, and I had put everything from that room into boxes. My daughter, Jessica, gave me this stuffed animal to cheer me up a few months earlier because I was very sad when my son, Chris, went off to college.) As soon as Tim sat down, the koala, which was not even on the top of the box, went off by itself and said, “I love you. I love you.”

Wide eyed, Tim looked at me and said, “Mom, it’s as if Chelsea said I love you back. And she said it two times, just like you did!”

Tears rolled down my face. I really believe that is exactly what had happened! Somehow Chelsea was able to relay the message back to me that she loved me too. I don’t know if it was actually her, her higher self, or her angel, but it doesn’t even matter. She was able to say she loved me back, and then leave her frail body peacefully two days later.

Your pets can communicate with you when they are still in their physical bodies, and also after they pass. Ask them to give you “without a doubt” signs to tell you what they need to say. Then be patient and wait. They want to communicate with you as much as you want to communicate with them!
