Every day, each one of us is exposed to a great deal of external “noise.” And much of this noise takes the form of advice –the TV, newspapers and magazines expressing different issues, and friends or acquaintances’ different ideas. There is nothing wrong with external opinions—sometimes there is a lot we can learn from the wisdom of others.
But in today’s culture, there is so much going on “out there” that many of us forget to listen to our own intuition. And when we stop listening to ourselves and trusting our inner voice, we are prone to making decisions that take us out of our true self and force us to conform to the opinions of others.
This may sound like a bold statement, but it’s true: if you can train yourself to trust your own intuition, you are going to be happier, more fulfilled, and more at peace. The truth is that those around you, even if they have the best of intentions, simply can’t know what’s best for you in the way that your own intuition does. Your intuition is God within you – speaking to you about what is right for you!
So listen to your intuition! Listen to it in big matters, like important life decisions. Listen to it in smaller matters, like day-to-day decisions or relationships. Stay true to your inner self.
Again — while there is often wisdom to be found in listening to others, it is up to you to be discerning… to separate your inner knowingness from the noise around you. And when your intuition is telling you something different from those around you, learn to trust your soul, the God within you, and always stay true to yourself.
Many blessings to you!
