One hand generally has five fingers on it, but none of the fingers are exactly alike, and each has a different job to do for the hand. So it is with each of us. Although we are all one, each of us carries certain truths and experiences within ourselves. We are all connected to God, but each of us has a different reason to be here. Therefore we must accomplish what we chose to do before we came to Earth, not what others want us to do. We need to go within ourselves and seek our own personal truth.
In order to experience peace within, it’s imperative to question everything that comes into our awareness from outside ourselves, and see if it feels right to us. Even though we may say we believe certain ideas, if the information doesn’t come from within ourselves, we may experience an element of doubt about these views. What is true for another person, or even the masses, may not be true for us. So it is very important not to go along with
everybody just because it is the popular thing to do.
Looking back throughout history, you can see that those who have made significant differences in the world were those who dedicated their lives to living their dreams. They did whatever they needed to do to achieve their purpose, regardless of what others thought and despite any obstacles in their paths. Think of Jesus; Albert Einstein; Martin Luther King, Jr.; Mahatma Gandhi; Michelangelo . . . The list can go on and on.
They changed the world in their own way by reclaiming the power within and devoting their lives to living their passion. In other words, they helped the masses by honoring their own special calling!
If you have not found your life’s purpose, please don’t despair. You are so loved, and you are here for a reason. The fact that you are here on Earth is evidence of this!
The most important thing for you to do is really listen to your soul. As Steve Jobs said, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
You know what makes you come alive. You know what your passion is! Whenever you get excited about something, it’s your soul telling you, “Pay attention; this is an important part of my soul’s journey.” Do not ignore this inner prompting. Remember to let the amazing light within you shine, and always be yourself. You came here for a magnificent purpose, and you should never suppress your uniqueness to fit in with others.
Others might not agree with what you should be doing with your life. Please do not allow these naysayers to take you away from your calling. On the other hand, make sure to allow others to be who they are; accept them, as long as they are not hurting anyone. If we accept them for who they are, they will be free to accomplish what they came here to do. Then they, too, will be at peace.
