New Year’s Resolutions: Seek Peace in Your Relationships

As 2012 winds down, many of us are focused on the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Shopping at the mall, preparing to travel for the holidays, sending out cards in the mail… it is a busy time of year to say the least!

But before we know it, the holidays will come and go. And then comes an exciting opportunity—the dawning of the New Year!

The New Year symbolizes opportunity and potential. It’s like a field covered in a fresh, pure snow… or the blank canvas of an artist.

Each of us has the opportunity to create our own future and achieve our own dreams next year. And that is why this period of time, right now, is so important. It’s our chance to identify some of our dreams and goals for the year to come.

Today, I would like to challenge you to add a very important “resolution” to your list:

Resolve to create peace in all your relationships in 2013.

Make 2013 the year that you put aside anger, conflict and hostility. Make 2013 the year that you are willing to forgive and to let go… and to breathe life back into relationships that have grown cold or weak.

It won’t be easy, because we humans are creatures of habit. We may be used to holding grudges and battling for what we think is fair. In many cases, we will have to release these old habits in order to heal relationships that have grown hostile.

And though it will be difficult at times, I promise you that it is worth the effort! The sweetness of experiencing peace all around you is amazing. The harmony and the positive energy that you’ll experience through close, healthy relationships will be rejuvenating.

So make it your goal in 2013 to seek peace in all of your relationships. Breathe deeply and let go of hostility and anger, and usher in new feelings of peace and love.

Many blessing to you as you strive to make 2013 your most peaceful year yet!
