Acknowledging “Without a Doubt Signs”  from Your Loved Ones

Please do something for me right now. In a moment I’m going to ask you to close your eyes for 10 seconds. When you open your eyes, I want you to take 15 seconds and look around the room and make a mental note of everything green. Look all around you, up, down …everything green.

Go. 10 seconds …9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Did you see green things? Are you looking back at this blog entry? Do you remember some of the green things? Now, close your eyes quickly and name something blue …close your eyes now!

Chances are you weren’t able to recall a single thing in the room that is blue. This is something you’ll see at business seminars and life coaching retreats to show you how our focus can limit us.

Too often I have friends and clients who are searching and seeking answers and peace, but they aren’t truly looking. I write about some amazing, life changing moments that happened to me over these many years and I had the grace to notice what was happening at the time, but had I been too busy with life in general, I would’ve missed out on my calling and some beautiful connections with souls in my life and souls that passed out of my life.

In my books, I write about losing my dear friend, Marion, and mourning her loss deeply only to be attacked, basically, a few days later by a crazy bird while I was getting the mail. So persistent and whacky was this bird, it was a definite sign she was with me, and it brought me great contentment as well. I was able to recognize this because, at that moment, I had made a conscious decision to mourn, remember, and honor her spirit. It was painful and I was sad, but those emotions are as healthy as any happiness or laughter I’ve ever known.

If you take nothing else from this blog entry, take away the fact that you need to experience time for yourself every now and then. This is sometimes the best lesson I teach anyone during my sessions and seminars. Take a time out. Cherish a memory and cherish a moment in time.

When you hear a song that reminds you of someone, perhaps that someone made sure you heard the song and wants you to remember. When you open a drawer you swear you’ve opened one hundred times and you never noticed a tattered photo before, don’t chalk it up to being busy. I bet your loved one wanted you to see it at that given moment. Take a few minutes to look at these photos or listen to these songs, or whatever other “without a doubt” sign you’re being given.

Yes, the signs and the memories are being given to you as gifts. Enjoy them. Learn to notice them and ask for more signs as well!

Now, in a few minutes I’m going to ask you again to close your eyes. This time, pretend this blog entry, no matter how you happened to click on it or read it, no matter who sent it to you, or what it meant, I’m hoping you thought of someone while reading it. Close your eyes and for 1-minute, 5-minutes, or as long as you need to, think of that person and lose yourself in your memories. That person wanted you to read this and remember.

Oh …and think of something blue.
